Hikmicro B20S Thermal Camera Rental
See where heat escapes, where underfloor heating runs and which parts of installations or machines are overheating. A professional 256 × 192 camera with Wi-Fi — without buying equipment worth thousands for a single check.
What is a thermal camera good for?
- Homes — heat loss, thermal bridges, leaky windows, cold walls and spots prone to condensation.
- Underfloor heating — pipe layout, even heating, preliminary fault finding.
- Electrical installations — overheating connections, contactors, fuses and switchboard components.
- Industrial machines — diagnosing motors, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics and control cabinets.
- Cars — checking heated seats and windows, comparing brake temperatures.
- Solar and electronics — preliminary detection of hot spots and overheating components.
Homes, heating and heating mats
Find thermal bridges, uninsulated spots and leaky windows, doors and sills — cold spots often encourage condensation and mould in corners. With the heating on, underfloor loops usually show up well, which helps establish the pipe layout; it does not guarantee a safe drilling spot. An unusual warm patch may suggest a leak but needs confirming by other methods. The camera also shows cold parts of radiators and where the warm pattern of an electric heating mat breaks off, which helps narrow down the fault.
Electrics, machines and automation
The camera shows overheating fuses, terminals, sockets, cables, contactors, inverters, motors and bearings. Heating alone does not tell you whether the cause is overload, a loose terminal or a faulty part — that needs further measurement. Do not inspect open live switchboards or cabinets yourself; that is a job for a qualified electrician. Thermal images of the same spot can be compared over time if the measuring conditions are similar (machine load, ambient temperature, distance and angle).
Cars and solar
With heating switched on, seat and steering-wheel mats and rear-window elements show clearly — where the pattern breaks off helps narrow down the fault, though it does not always tell a broken mat from a power issue. After a drive you can compare brake temperatures. On a sunny day, with a solar system running, the camera may reveal unusual hot spots on panels that can indicate damaged cells or shading — a proper diagnosis needs further checks. Observe the panels from a safe spot on the ground.
Which camera do we rent?
We rent the Hikmicro B20S thermal camera: 256 × 192 sensor (49,152 measuring points — more than two and a half times the 160 × 120 cameras common in rental shops), sensitivity below 40 mK, smooth 25 Hz image, range up to 550 °C, thermal/visual/Fusion/picture-in-picture modes and an IP54 housing (protection against dust and water splashes).
Honestly: what the camera will not do
A thermal camera does not measure moisture and cannot see through walls — it shows surface temperature, and results depend on reflections, surface type, sun and draughts. Check moisture itself with a meter, e.g. the Trotec BM31 moisture meter. An official energy audit or expert opinion requires a certified thermographer.
Thermal camera rental — Katowice, Gliwice and all of Silesia
Our camera is rented by homeowners, installers, electricians, construction firms and factories. We serve Katowice, Gliwice, Zabrze, Chorzów, Bytom, Ruda Śląska, Sosnowiec, Tychy, Mysłowice, Mikołów and nearby towns. Rent it for a single day, a weekend or longer — lower rates apply for longer rentals. Collect it in Katowice or have it delivered within the Silesian agglomeration for a flat PLN 200 net round trip.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to rent a thermal camera per day?
PLN 79 net per day for 1–3 days (PLN 97.17 gross), PLN 63 for 4–10 days, PLN 55 for 11–20 days and PLN 48 from 21 days. A weekend from Friday 1 pm to Monday 8 am counts as one day. Refundable deposit PLN 500.
Will a thermal camera detect a water leak?
It can help. Leaking water changes the surface temperature, so an anomaly may suggest the leak location — but it needs confirming, e.g. with a moisture meter or a pressure test.
Can a thermal camera see pipes in the floor?
Underfloor heating pipes — usually yes, when the heating is running. Cold pipes without flow are practically invisible. The image helps establish the layout but does not guarantee a safe drilling spot.
Does thermal imaging work through walls?
No. It shows surface temperature only. It cannot measure through glass either — glass acts like a mirror for infrared.
Can I send images to my phone?
Yes, over Wi-Fi with the free HIKMICRO Viewer app (Android and iPhone), or via USB-C to a computer. We wipe the memory after every return.
Do you deliver the camera?
Yes, across the Silesian agglomeration for a flat PLN 200 net round trip, or collect it in Katowice.
